I. Overview of SKYJOY Piano Music Pedagogy

Piano education is a comprehensive subject, as it entails many aspects of music training. SkyJoy Piano Music Pedagogy covers key subjects in piano and music learning, including piano playing and music competencies. The teaching philosophy of the Founder of SKYJOY piano music, Dr. June, is to encourage and explore the greatest potential of each individual student and cultivate students to be well-rounded pianists and musicians. SkyJoy Piano Music Pedagogy and Curriculum is aligned with globally recognized piano exams (such as ABRSM) and New York State festivals (such as NYSSMA) . In addition to performing at periodical music recitals, students are prepared to enter exams or festivals depending on learning progress. All classes are designed to build on each other and strengthen students’ confidence and skills in piano playing and music training.

Our students, acclaimed as aspiring young musicians, stand testimony to Dr. June’s innovative pedagogy. The curriculum is meticulously designed to encompass not just piano techniques and performance skills, but also a broad spectrum of music competencies. This holistic approach ensures that students not only excel in their craft but also develop a profound appreciation and understanding of music as an art form.

Lesson Format

Each session is 10-week with two lessons per week (1 piano lesson – 45 minutes or 60 minutes depending on students’ levels & needs, and 1 group music competency lesson- 90 minutes).  All incoming students take both required lessons each week: piano lesson and music competency lesson.
